How did my pelvic floor become a problem?

There are several reasons why your pelvic floor muscles and bladder can experience changes that are causing you pain, and leaking:

I’m pregnant, Can I get treatment?

ABSOLUTELY! While your body and hormones are changing daily you CAN and SHOULD seek pelvic floor therapy services. If you are experiencing increased leakage or constipation, back pain, hip pain or pain during intercourse while pregnant we would love to help you navigate this stage in your life. A pelvic floor therapist can also provide treatment options to aid you in preparing for birthing and postpartum changes.

How long after birth do I have to wait to get therapy?

After birth mothers can receive pelvic floor rehab immediately. However, internal work will not be done until you are cleared by your provider. Virtual and In-person session are great for new mommies you are having a difficult time navigating their new found responsibilities and taking the time to address their own needs.

Do I have to have an internal exam?

NO! We understand that you are coming to us apprehensive, nervous and flat out SCARED about what will take place. Although an internal exam may be necessary at some point in your treatment we have a number of evaluation and treatment options that will respect your boundaries and comfort level.

Can you treat men?

Yes. Penis owners suffer from bladder and bowel changes that may affect them in ways that are vastly different than vulva owners. We are qualified to treat conditions such as erectile dysfunction, urinary leakage, constipation and fecal incontinence in men.

We do understand the some men may want to be treated by a male therapist and would love to be a resource to point you in the right direction if Meruu Core Choice Rehabilitation is not a good fit.

Can you help me virtually?

Yes. Pelvic floor rehabilitation although primarily an in person medical treatment may be done virtually. Given recent developments with COVID-19 we would love to help all that we can given the technological resources that we have today.
